I’m after a bit of advice on paint choice. Ive started restoring a mini van, lots of new panels on the underside and front end. It’s a way off yet but starting to plan.
Once all the panels are finished I want to be able to paint the underside and possibly the engine bay up to colour coat at home in the garage. The rest of the main body work, apart from primer I will entrust to a specialist.
I’m aware of the hazards of isocyanates and keen to avoid them. I have previously sprayed cellulose in the garage but I am looking for a better finish on this project.
Which type and brand of primer should I be using for the underside onto the mostly new panels?
I am then thinking of a Shultz type protector before the top coat. Again on these which type should I be looking at buying for this stage?
Also any ideas on a safe mask for this work.
Many thanks
Tony
