Painting motorcycle wheels, any tips?

Anyone have any tips for spraying bike wheels? i always get over spray mainly on the inner rims which feels like sand paper. I have the gun set to the right presure etc, i have the wheel on a stand so it lays flat and im spraying down on the wheel.

I dont have extraction but i can get decent results on flat panels with minimal flatting off.

i always paint the wheels upright with a bar through the centre to turn them, if your overspray is that bad turn down the pressure but make sure you still get a decent finish and you dont need the fan as wide for wheels test on some scrap first.
also put the paint on nice and wet

Cheers snoop i'll try flipping the wheel vertical and using less presure. To be fair ive always thought the recomended presures they state seem far to high as ive not painted a panel yet that hasnt needed flatting

Oh and ive got the fan set to nearly the minimal setting

the best way to set your gun up is to experiment on some scrap to get a nice wet flat finish. if you are putting the paint on too dry it will give you the problem you are having.

A minigun 1.0 nozzle Detalyo HVLP. I also have a normal sized Deltalyo LVLP gun with 1.3 and 1.6 nozzles and i seem to get better results with that gun although its harder to use getting around the spokes etc

as said.. less pressure and thinner mix.... overspray really should not be a problem...

also easier to do both sides if on a spindle

Thanks for the advice, im only at the primer stage at present on these wheels so will flatten down tonight and have another crack at it tomorrow.

sorry to detract, if anyone is gonna powder coat wheels, stick the wheel in the oven for half hour to heat up makes the powder take much easier.

and loads of lacquer on the wheels too dude!

Thought id update this for anyone thats interested. Yes hanging the wheel vertical does make things easier, much easier, and also less presure has done the trick. The recomended presure for that gun is 2 bar yet i was running it at well under 1 bar and still got a nice finish and for the first time ive produced something that doesnt need flatting down!! and all this in this freaking cold weather.
