Hey guys!
This forum has been so helpful to me! Thank you very much to all of you!
So, I have a problem in the fiberglass top of my van, it was painted (by someone else so I don't know which paint he used) but after 3 months the paint is already coming off with the rain...
So now I need to paint again...And because I am broke I need to do it myself.
So I sand all the paint that is still there, is that enough or I need to strip it all out? With a simple razor the old paint is still coming out, it was really a terrible job...
I wonder if I need to strip it all with a razor or if there is a easier way...
But its still a lot of work so I wonder if now that is sanded if I paint it over it will be ok?
Also I read that for fiberglass it need to be a primer first, so for that logic I need to strip all the old paint (lot of work I would like to avoid it).
Also I am thinking the possibility of painting with stone chip (to have like raptor effect but cheaper).
So my question is if stone ship stick to fiberglass or need the primer first?
Or if I paint stone ship over the remaining paint, that will work for at least couple years?
If I decide to not use stone ship but a regular paint how should I do?
I guess the best way to do it it strip it all out, use the primer and then paint but that is a lot of work so I am here just trying to understand how bad would be the easier solutions.
Thank you very much!!!
