I *hate* decorating.
I despise wallpapering because I can't abide getting "sticky" - and I always do.
I hate painting because it never seems to look as good as when anyone else does it - although I've had much better success with spraying compared to brushing/rollering.
I've been rolling undercoat/primer, then acrylic eggshell onto my newly made MDF kitchen cabinet doors and, despite the fact I used the highly recommended "Leyland trade" paints, it was looking incredibly thin and translucent even after 6 or 7 coats.
Sanding between each coat, everything I could research - it just wouldn't "stick".
This morning, I had an epiphany...
I'm used to working with ink - which is rollered out and gives a coverage of around 1000m² per litre.
Paint only does around 10m² per litre.
I've basically been trying to put 1% as much paint down as I should have been.
The 8th coat looks *much* better.
