I have found that it is very difficult indeed to set fire to a plywood wall with welding sparks. Your biggest risk is where the wall meets the floor where a hot piece could rest, otherwise, bit of a non-issue.
Lining with plasterboard would be the cheapest way I can think of and you get the extra benefit of easy re-painting and loads of reflected light.
