Paint stripper

Can anyone recommend a paint stripper that works. This stuff you buy from your local store ain't worth a toss.

depends on the surface profile but if not too many corners then try searching for "grinder poly disc"

I used Wilko paint stripper once & It wasn't very successful, But I do question if the cold temperature had an effect on its performance. Would give it another go in a Hotter climate.

The No Nonsense stuff might be worth ago from Screwfix!

Go to a automotive paint supplier and they will have some of the good old stuff
The DIY stripper wouldn't touch the original paint on an old Land Rover but the automotive stripped did the job.

If you go to an autojumble, pick up one of those 5 litre cans that has all the warnings on it and says industrial use only. I got one for £20 and it works wonders, eats through your gloves and burns you so you know it's quality stuff. Don't get it in your eyes though.

thats where I get mine from should be 30 quid from a shop

Starchem Synstryp sorry but this stuff is rubbish. I bought some on recommendation from this forum.
get more off by just using thinners.

What paint stripper did we decide on in the end?

Just been using some stuff from B&Q & its the slowest paint stripper I've ever used!

I also noticed that the No Nonsense stuff from Screwfix must come from the same place as B&Q & also due to them being sister companies.

I think I'm going to get some Industrial stuff as its definitely Nonsense this other rubbish!

I stripped my tractor with some gear i got from a proper industrial paint supplier. Whacked it on and went in for a brew thinking it might have just started bubbling - five coats of paint had slid straight off into a nice neat pile on the floor!

The more warnings on the tin the better it will be.

I coated a radiator with loads of no nonsense stripper and forgot about it overnite went in next day and nothing had happened wiped it off and got some decent stuff . one coat and it was bubbling up in 15 seconds edit got a bit of it on my skin and had to spit on it fast and rub it off

I remember many years back I used Nitromors & it also bubbled in next to no time & would burn your skin. But this other stuff isn't worth the pain! Might even take it back after only using a little & complain its useless!
