Hey Chaps,
Looking to restore the windows on my new (old) place. The windows have seen some good care and ALOT of paint over the past 40 years - thing is now its cracking and looking scabby (or in some instances hinges & shuts have been painted closed!)
I want to strip all the windows back and repaint them. Big issue is shifting the old paint. I have tried with basic scraping tools, heat and Nitromors (which is completely ***** these days) and havent made a dent. I dont want to sand as I dont want to break the galvanised layer on the windows.
Does anyone know of a good paint stripper that wont react with galvanised steel, rubber, glass or wood? Probably ***** in the wind with finding something suitable but I thought it would be worth an ask!
Cheers
James
