Paint for car wheels advice ?

I have just sanded my steel wheels back to bare metal , back in the day I used hammerite but its not as it used to be .. so any help would be good on a good brand , I do not mind using a paint brush but also can use spray gun ..

Do not want to use 2k as have not got correct set up needs to be iso free.. I would like an all in one paint direct to bare metal etc ..

an acid etch primer and smoothrite enamel will make a nice job

Send them off to be powder coated. It costs less than you would think. I did it with my Compomotive racing alloys and couldn't have been happier with the result! It's so much harder wearing than the paint that was originally on and I can use a more aggressive cleaner to get the brake dust off.

He's happy with brush finish so I doubt he will want to send them off for powder coating.

I'd strip, epoxy primer (brush will be fine), quick sand down to smooth the brush marks a bit and rattle can silver wheel paint followed by clear coat.

Can you still get Spectra paint? I used their 5 Wheel Silver aerosols years ago, and was always very happy with the result. Not sure if it's still available though - anyone seen it recently?

Halfords do a "5 wheel silver" or at least used to. I sprayed some Alfa wheels with it and they came up very well.

aldi metal paint has done okay on a set i did - can brush it or thin it and spray

id mist them over with etch primer if funds allow

Yes powder coat is not needed as will only be used as winter wheels . I do have a some aldi metal paint not used it yet as was not sure if it was any good..
I mite get a can of etch primer then..
