hello, i have bought a new lorry and looking for advise on what paints. i use cheap 2k solid on my vans and it does the job, although it chips easy and fades quite badly over the years. would using a good brand of 2k basecoat with lacquer over the top be any better?
the lorry has only done 20k miles so the chassis is in good condition with just a few small rust patches, could i rust rub these down with 80 grit on my da sander and shoot 2k epoxy primer followed by black, any other recomendations?
for the wheels i was thinking of using the da and sand blaster and then epoxy prime and then shoot solid 2k silver with possibly some lacquer over the top or i have heard of some people mixing 50/50 2k colour with lacquer in 2-1 with hardener on the final coat.
i have found max meyer 4-1 2k epoxy primer on ebay but it says it just uses normal 2k hardener, i thought epoxy had its own hardener or a i wrong?
any advise would be great.
cheers, james
