That’s what I ended up doing. But a different flap arrangement. We settled on a false floor type in the end so the parcels could be a bit larger. He wanted a cereal box sort of size to go in it.

That in wozzahs link is exactly what the library here has albeit on a bigger scale.

Actually the stone idea isn't bad, could make a seat for it for putting your boots on in summer.

What about an oak whisky barrel there fairly easy to get hold of and look pretty good
