Have seen those and most of his channel. Part of the reason I’m really trying to slim down core tools to a minimal kit of essentials. I like those tool rolls and I was debating having one or a backpack. They sort of would and won’t achieve what I want to do.

I like the tool roll, I hadn't considered that before. I've been trying to design a "modular" knife roll which I can expand as and when I acquire new kitchen knives knives, or to carry other utensils to form a "BBQ kit" for example. I'll definitely think about putting together a tool roll now, that looks much more accessible than packing everything into a box.

Right well spent a bit of time looking and made the decision to go with a peli style case. With tool rolls to organise the stuff inside and a foam insert/neodymium magnets in the lid and bottom.

Anyone got any experience with these cases and can share thier thoughts?

Weight is a factor but not a huge one.

I then have a selection of tool sets within it

It means it is really obvious if something doesn't get put back. In the insert I can carry fuses crimp terminals and a few nuts and bolts. It's the best mobile tool kit possible
The lid sits up so all the tools are on display and it becomes a little work station

Yes and no.

It’s just trying to rationalise/organise myself mainly. Do a lot of bits and pieces and work when i’m home and I’m for ever forgetting things or not having what I need. This is an attempt to resolve this.

Am doing it a bit for work as I’m doing agency work just now (shipping) and it’s good fun but I’m also looking into doing a bit of mechanical technician work. Get a bit more specialised experience in a few areas. It will hopefully involve a bit of flying/travelling and get me some experience in different areas. Family in OZ are involved as well in this and it may lead to a few opportunities.

It sounds like some good opportunities there , I know Australia has a lot of well paid mining work assume that may be it which has a lot of massive kit to work on, Maybe not massive if your used to walking inside marine diesel engine crank cases

I would find it hard to believe there is any abuse that that keter wouldn't be up to.
It's been dropped out the tractor bucket numerous times. Been thrown all over the place and generally had a very very hard life. I don't know what other keter products are like but that particular one is sturdier than any packout or tough system product

It sounds like some good opportunities there , I know Australia has a lot of well paid mining work assume that may be it which has a lot of massive kit to work on, Maybe not massive if your used to walking inside marine diesel engine crank cases

Agricultural mainly one owns a huge arable farm and agri engineering business and they have asked if I would go out and help in the busy months of the year occasionally or if people are wanting holidays. Another is a big gps and telecoms system provider and installer and the other owns and runs a vineyard so all interesting work.

I use a few different ones, the tough box with the proper trolley is good and I also prefer the early version but the toughsystem wheeled box is just too short, I’m tall but it just hits my feet.
The Packout is in the middle, better in some ways, I’d take it over the DeWalt wheeled box for sure, but maybe not the trolley if I have the room.

Tstak is light duty, I won’t buy any more, tougher than most other tool brands (Makita is awful for boxes) but not in the same league as the other two systems.

I have only used a small peli but I’d imagine a fair bit tougher than any but not as convenient.

Thanks that helps I’m thinking of pack out for parts organisation and the pack out drawers for a workshop tool cart for larger stuff.

I've got the early toughsystem boxes and trolley, they're great boxes but all mine have ended up massively heavy and the trolley is wide although its versatile and rated for a decent load. That's the key. Spreading things out into manageable sets

My toughsystem stack has bottom box for my cordless skilly planer jigsaw grinder

Another two have all my Sanders and nailguns
