I use oxy propane for brazing copper pipes, used to use acetylene but swapped over when I ran out or acetylene and didn't want to pay the rent on a new bottle
propane is slower to use than acetylene with the lower heat but I get done just fine, 3 inch thick wall coper pipes etc. suck the heat away pretty quick but I still get a good join/braze
lent my kit to a mate who used it with a cutting torch to cut up pretty thick stuff, he said it worked no problem
