How much is the no rent optionThe no-rental Albee Oxygen and Acetylene would probably be a better bet if you aren't going to be a big user. I have BOC O/A cylinders at the mo, but they're getting them back when my annual rental comes up.

Don't bother with acet unless it's for welding propane all the way ! Cheaper by far and no rental
You get all diffent sizes in propane bottles. No rental and unless your welding (as its rubbish for that lacking shielding ) and you don't need to cut really really thick plate then propane is massively better.I'm not entirely convinced it's that much cheaper. It looks cheaper at face value but it doesn't do the same job and you need to swap you hoses and you definitely use quite a bit more propane to get the same result. If you are rent free and you don't use it all the time then you may as well have acetylene, the bottles are much smaller too.
Hello armalitesStueeee had a couple of Albee Acetylene from me that I listed in the for sale section for £150 each, they are an outright purchase. They cost about £70 to fill and it's a good option if Oxy/Acet is something that sits in the corner unused for monthes.
I have some more left.
i just looked rent on size y is £47+vat for 12 month, oxy and argon
last oxy fill was about £12 and last argon £47
Ring them up and complain..Interesting, the last years rental on my (smaller than Y) size X Oxygen was £83.40 + VAT; presumably all part of the BOC 'take the p**s if you can' business model.
