Possibly do it some neutral colour like black, as fresh Hammerite would stick out just as much as a different colour.
I was also thinking of painting it black. This is getting spooky.
I also have silver hammerite which might contrast nicely with the blue.
I bought a "spares or repair" Oxford 140 amp unit. Got it for £10 and it cost me probably another £10 in fuel to collect, maybe a bit less.
Went to collect it expecting it to be on a farm or something - turns out it was in a school metal work dept.the top was thick in sawdust and oil but once cleaned off it really was like new! It's certainly not seen much use. Took the top off, found one of the studs for the power connection was loose. Tightened that up, put a new flex on and it worked a treat!
Yeah I couldn't really believe it myself, it always seems to be other people who get stuff like that and I'm either too late or too far away ha ha!!That truly was a stonking deal. It's lovely when it's an owt and nowt type fault, isn't it. From a school too, it probably won't have even seen 50 hours use from new.
The early bird may well get the worm but it's the second mouse that gets the cheeseYeah I couldn't really believe it myself, it always seems to be other people who get stuff like that and I'm either too late or too far away ha ha!!
Actually, yeah - I thing a gland would be too modern but the strain relief (even though it is plastic) looks much more in keeping.so its got a plastic shroud instead![]()

If you change your mind matt, I've got some black plastic ones that are industrialish looking...
Definite no plastic gland on that, it'd look daft![]()
