Ok, so I was out in the shed trying out my new fincord m's electrodes, full face visor, thick gauntlets, steel toe cap boots, fireproof overalls, as always, running a few beads on a plate to determine what setting gives best results per rod..
All of a sudden I felt what must of felt like a bee sting on the side of my head, following with sudden heat I instantly shook my head like a wet dog does to see a orange blob of molten metal whizzing round in my visor.
I smelled singed hair and took my visor off immediately....
Went in the house any my missus pointed out that I have a bald patch on the side of my head.... laughing at me
The burn throbbed for a few hours, but now has calmed down (or the stella has numbed me)
Point is, earlier on today I was in my local BOC dealer looking at welders head and kneck balaclava's, and I will be purchasing one at the next opportunity.
I've been welding for 8 months now and that was the most painful burn to date.. I've had a small blob stick to my cheek on that side also...
Heres the damage.....
