why would you sell your own stuff? then you dont have it any more, so you cant use it when you want...
My SIP Migmate 150 cost me 175 in 1992 as Halfords in Huddersfield were discounting it one Christmas holiday. Only stopped using it last year when I bought a GYS. Even got used by work on site when our all singing all dancing portable that no-one could figure how to work properly broke.
Wasn't until I found this site I discovered they were really not very good ;-)

I've had my Sealey Supermig 180 for 20 years & apart from a new liner & a repair to the wire feed PCB it has ran faultlessly. It has built a trailer, a car transporter, a stock car, a rally car, numerous repairs on rusty cars, gates, barriers plus numerous other repairs on a farm. It is still in good condition & certainly owes me nothing. I think I paid £280 for it, I seen a really rough one making £150 at a recent auction!
bought my first mig, a sip migmate 100 back in 1986/7, 180 quid.... not a lot now but a huge amount to a 50 quid a week apprentice...
mind you it paid for itself many times over keeping my old bangers on the road... learnt to weld by need....
Still have it, the old migmate, hasn't been used by me in years, but dragged it out and checked it over and lent it to a mate last year to weld some thin sheet. Had to change the wire as it was rusty, and the gas valve was a bit sticky for the first few goes, but other than that worked fine.. reminds me he's still got it... ach well, he can keep it, if I got it back it would just sit there again...

My first MIG was a sip autoplus 130 I sold it a few months ago because I was running out of room and was upgrading it was sold in full working order I didn't have the original receipt but worked it out to be 24 years old I hope the newer stuff lasts as long !!

I had a Cebora 120 in the mid 80s, cost a fair bit at the time but welded many cars and earnt it’s keep, probably paid for itself threefold. Used Co2 at first then decanted Argoshield through an adaptor hose and 15kg rolls rewound onto 5kg to keep costs down. Landed a nice little earner welding storage baskets on weekends and the duty cycle became limiting so stepped up to an Einhell and sold the Cebora to an old boy I was working with. Replaced the Einhell with a Portamig 215 23 years later and sold the Einhell to a friend, the Portamig has already paid for itself in a short time!

No Idea, I was in and out of Thorite a lot at that time, spent a lot.. got given a lot.
I do remember very clearly that getting gas 'seemed' a heck of a lot harder back then, in fact I had an easier time with oxy acet than Co2, then I swapped over to argoshield which due to the lack of use in later years cost me an absolute fortune on rental.
