At work I've got a big build on builders moaning that an ariel was in the way
So I looked about spoke to people as it was installed before my time was said thus was an old flat and prob the TV ariel so just remove it

Looks like a standard TV ariel 10 quid job but years old

This sort of thing
After removing it put in a safe place just to see if it was needed and got called in they said there mobiles not working and could it been that ?
So I said OK will put back up but some ones nicked it are these ariels all the same I think it might been connected to this

Any ideas people's?

It could have been a UHF point to point link, or even a 4G Yagi, most likely the latter. It will need re-installing and pointing to the nearest cell if I am correct.

If it was like your pic with cheap flat elements most likely TV, if 4g like the pic it will be a more robust build
Much more likely Might have been a fixed mobile antenna talking to a repeater on another site with the HP on that remote site, follow the cable to where it goes.
The other looks like MIMO antenna

if it helps there was no f type connectors the way it was attached to the ariel

im sure there is nothing in that direction building wise on our site

new updates on getting to work today had a chance to get a look the white dome bit has 2 leads as @500e 2nd photo but is not connected to any thing just the 2 leads flaping in the wind so thats it for that one its im assuming not working but never removed im thinking are they powered in any way ?


the ariel that was removed im leaning the way of a tv ariel unless 15 plus years ago mobile phone ariels where wired up the same as tv ariels




on a 2nd question if we where to add a mobile phone mast to boost the signal what choises are there about the days and is the cost much ? require special equipment to install ?
mostly to cover 2 rooms that are the office area that is quite small the area generaly is carp for most phone signal and unless your out side the building by a few meters but in the building is generaly dire

sorry only had a chance today to get in to the office with out crawling under peoples legs and moving deaks as got in early and found a tv cable on the end of a long run in a dark space that my fat ass can only just manage so thats the mobile signal gone to pot as thats not part of it

And the dome part that was in one of the first pics is not even attached I removed it to day

This looks possably part of a mobile extender but it's not even connected just 2 leads flying in the wind

Mobile phone signal amplifiers are totally illégal here in France, yeah, you can buy them, but get caught using them... Big fine.
