I'm currently making some lock boxes for a friend. Made from 6mm flat and I'm finding it difficult to get a consistent bead, filling the fillet nicely without either not enough deposit to fill the join or getting too much overspill to grind off.
I'm using 1mm wire at about 200 amps.
Inside fillets are conning out ok.

- don't the mig lads run roots in and then fill in and cap off using different settings?? -I don't know-but as a new mig novice I think thats what I would try with my 160amp mig if I did not have stick as well.
