My Favorite automatic bidder is Auctionsniper, copy the listing number, place your highest bid, set a lead in time, -(mine is 3 seconds. confirm and it will keep bidding till you either run out of money or win. You will be kept informed if you are outbid before auction ends. Brilliant if you are away from the computer at auction end time. And brilliant if you want the item at any cost, place a bid of £500 and you could win the item for a fiver.
My local online auction house, has an auction end time, However a bid must be placed and not be bid against for a full 20 minutes, end time is generally 12.00 or 13.00 if you bid at 5 to the hour, The bid has to stand till quarter past with no bids against you, otherwise it goes another 20 mins and so and so on, some times an item will not finish for a couple of hours past closure time.Guarantees the highest interested bidder wins.

everyone is running these gizmos and not everyone can win . its called just bid your max and add 35 pence on the end of it if someone realy wants it u have lost it no matter what . and if it went for 20 pence more than u bid it would just go on till the other bidders price went higher than yours if thats what they were prepared to pay

If the item is worth £10 but someone runs you up to your maximum it would sting a bit though

Auto bidding

you bid what you can afford to loose, Its useless bidding £500 expecting to win it for a fiver. No different to a live auction, bid what you can afford then STOP. Do yer homework, set a price and if necessary let an automatic bidder take over for you, Much better than a twitchy finger on a dodgy internet connectiion. Only problem with placing your bids with E Bay by yourself it is possible to inflate the price, bidding against some one or several bidders, just pushes the price up and up.

Autobid, bid stealer etc etc are no different to a person bidding, the highest bid before the listing ends wins, regardless of how it's placed.

I always snipe bid in the last seconds, entering the price I am prepared to pay for the item and tend to win many more than I lose.

I never bid before then, there are too many shill bidders these days and ebay do nothing to stop it because it earns them more commission.

Occasionally I use JBidWatcher for sniping, but I've lost a few auctions over the years when it fails to sign me in (I think this has been down to Firewall/ internet connection issues though).

The trouble with bidding your maximum early on is it shows other interested parties they have competition, giving them time to bang in a few bids to see what your max is, allowing them ample time to decide whether to outbid you or not.
If you leave it till the last few seconds and the bid has been at a quid for a week, then Joe Chancer is likely to fire off a daft £2.50 for the thing you'd happily pay a fiver for. In that case you'd win, as our man Joe wouldn't have time to up his maximum. Show your fiver on Tuesday and he's got days to scrounge an extra couple of quid off his mum

I've got quite good at spotting shill bidders, should really report more of them, but usually spotting them early on means I don't bother to bid anyway; you have to wonder what other stupid games they might play if you did win the bidding.
Ebay masking usernames with asterisks doesn't help, but if you click on name of the bidder you suspect, it'll show all bidding ativity by that person. If it turns out that 100% of their bids have been with the same seller as the one in question, and said activity goes back weeks or months, AND if they also have a zero or very low feedback rating themselves, bingo.
I spotted one guy who'd been an Ebay member since way back when (2002 or so), had zero feedback but persistently failed to buy items from just one seller. The seller had the same joining date

I was selling a motorbike on eBay last year and was in the middle of negotiations with someone. The guy I was negotiating with slept on it and that night someone bid above his asking price, the following day he was funny with me thinking I was behind it! He backed out and the bike didn't meet the reserve price. I contacted the last bidder to see if he would up his amount a bit and the bike was his but he replied saying he had no intention of buying it but thought he would try and help me out!!!!!! Idiot!! He got reported

What makes the Cebora synegic unique for ali welding? I have tried ali welding on my old mig a good while back,it wasn't great http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=6335
I think it was down to the old mig and my lack of welding experience,combined. I'm tempted to give it a go with my late welder

Having a synergic machine isn't going to guarantee good results on Alu. If you want good results on Alu you need a Synergic Pulse machine and they are usually way out of DIY/Hobby budgets and most are of the decent ones are only available on 3-ph.

If you buy a non-pulse synergic it will still be conventional mig as regards, dip/mixed and spray.

To get anything like decent results with a standard mig (either transformer or inverter) you really need to be in Spray arc, so that means usually 0.8mm wire to suit most hobby applications. 0.8mm Alu wire is notoriously difficult to feed so you would ideally need a spool on gun.

On industrial applications most are welded with a 1.2mm wire which is much easier to feed over a 3 or 4 meter torch.

By all means go for an inverter as you will have much greater control over the voltage settings so in that respect it will be marginally easier but don't expect it to be a magic wand.

some people have a program that enters a bid in at the very last second on ebay it is much faster than any human can be. that is why alot of items just get one bid at the very end of the auction.
