Never use a grinder one handed ..keep both hands on your tool when it is rotating.

I always wear glasses when grinding and use both hands, but the guard gets in the way especially on small frames like mine, and after I did put welding gloves on and caught the top of them with the disc, so they were useless!! and chucked them away

almost never wear gloves to grind....just know what to touch & what not to touch....woodwork machinery does that for you

I never use an angle grinder with out a guard. I would recommend putting it back on and get used to it (or leave it off and get used to getting bitten cause it will happen again). If you cant get at something because of the guard you are using the wrong tool.

Sorry, but you deserve what you get using a grinder with no guard.
I've caught myself with a grinding disc, and yes it hurts. a lot. And thats with a guard on.
If you've managed to catch your welding gloves, and knackered them, its not going to be long before you do it again

Ive got the same grinder as urs, they are quite heavy but well made,as u say i should put the guard back on!!

always keep the guard on if your hand slips down you will loose fingers and have to ask for a straw with your pint

JC ....BS your supposed to switch the dam thing on and use it as a grinder not use it as an axe to cut metals .

A friend of mine was lying underneath a car, which was on axle stands, cuttting through the exhaust when the grinder snatched and he dropped it. Never seen anyone move so fast! I just pulled the plug out ****** trying to catch it!
