Think that the one that I have is a 625, or something like it.
Very sturdy bit of kit, can happily support either the Goliath bench shears, or the CMZ bead swager, or both, if required.
Acquired for nuffink, just a slight repair being needed to get it back into service....

Measure the maximum & minimum diameter of the threaded rod in inches and mm & how many threads per inch , we should find it reasonably easy using our engineers tables to identify the thread form , some of us with lathes might also be able to turn up a pair of metal nuts for you

If anybody is interested I have an original (all aluminum?) work mate suitable for spares - may have some bits on it you need to fix yours. I eventually found it as I was looking for the aluminum (?) angle casting for the front tread plate and also the locking lever thing under and to the sides of the working platform - it took me ages to find these spares (this model seems to be super rare) and I so wanted to fix mine as it belonged to my late father so it must be some 55 years old.
I'll post again later in the day with some pictures - which I now realize would be helpful
You never did post those photographs!
Do you have one aluminium handle going spare? I bought an overhaul kit but the replacement handles are plastic.
I hang my head in shame I completely forgot - will post today.
Yes - has aluminium handles but they are not original, they have been very well made in aluminium though.

Thanks, but don't bother. The plastic one works and it's a working tool, not a museum piece. If an original had been available it would have been just a 'nice to have'.
I do feel bad though - sorry again. I will post the pictures anyway during the course of today, it will at least complete the thread I started.

This is what I have left - it took me ages to find this one so as I could remove components to fix the model that my late father had - it surely must be (now) some 55 years old.
I needed the fold down locking catch which was broken on one side, (see the 4 the photo), and also the reinforced treadle casting that fits across the front step, (bits of this are shown cable tied to what's left in picture 5.)
As you can see someone (not me) has made some very nice replacement handles out of aluminum.
Both helical screws plus the nuts (?) are in good condition. (See photo 4)

I have just re-read this whole thread and note the above from 01.July 23 where "Welderpaul" shows a link describing the parts available for all the various models. It appears that the model I have pre=dates the earliest listed ie: that of the Black & Decker 79-034 Workmate (Type 1)
Just a little bit of useless information that we all need to get through the day...
