Orbital sanders 230v

My orbital sander was from Aldi years ago and has lasted well. I bought some hook and loop backed sponge pads and it doubles up as a polisher as well.

It’s also slightly cheaper. Any idea why Bosch has these sanders in two different ranges? One has professional on the side - perhaps it’s aimed at trade use

Green are domestic rated tools, blue are trade rated tools. The build quality & components should be better on blue kit.

I use this 150mm RAS, they do a smaller 125mm too. Having lunched a few cheapies I've had this for a good few years and it's the mutts. I would like a Mirka Deros but the amount of use doesn't justify the additional cost.

Power Tool World is a good supplier too. I found them to be the cheapest when I ordered my 12V drill & driver.

I have the Bosch orbital sander both the 125mm and the 150mm versions, and I cant fault them the 150mm version is a 110v and it is seriously impressive when you want to remove material and the 125mm 240v is great for smaller detailed work.
As above Power tool world is the best for prices that I have ever found. However I had a nightmare with them just after Christmas where they had poorly packages 2 items, It took me over 35 emails and several weeks to get the issues resolved

I am a tick for Bosch Pro though

I had a poorly packaged one from FFX, so it's not limited to particular supplers. They're the ones who sent that 12V drill in just the L-Boxx insert in a plastic envelope/wrapper with a miniscule amount of bubblewrap.

Deviating slightly, I tried the 12V circular saw on a piece of butchers block yesterday. It hasn't got the blade depth to cut all way through, (I finished the cut with a handsaw once I had the guide cut to follow), but it managed a full depth cut along the grain for 64", and across the grain for about 18", at full blade depth, before the battery died. Didn't fare too badly, IMHO, considering that was hardwood.

Well this has been good as i have now looked at Mirka products, I know people that have them and i thought they were £500-£600, I may be able to get a 125mm 230 orbital and a air powered 150 mirka if i play my cards right.

I bought the Bosch GEX 125-1ae linked above from amazon for £84. Gave it a quick blast on a beam and it works well. The build in dust collector doesn’t collect as much as I’d like though so am interested in hooking it up to my vacuum..

I have a dyson DC41, doesn’t fit directly on so will need some sort of adaptor, anyone know anything about doing this?

Thats a bit a design error, all the other things i have that can hook up to a vacuum cleaner have round outlets..

If it's the same as mine it does have a round outlet. You'll find details extractor kits on ebay no doubt with rubber reducers etc for a variety of sizes. Different manufacturers all seem to use different diameters to be arkward.

Ah the random orbit. That's a no buy for me with a square outlet then.

The sander has a round outlet not square. Just need to get it to fit dysons over engineered self locking connection!

If it is round that's better, The old sander i had was connected to the vacuum by a long length of 25mm flexy conduit with a rubber sleeve in it, Every so often it failed so i wrapped it in tape.
