Hi you may have read my other thread - i am looking for a welder to weld my car bodywork - i have found the following -

SIP MIGMATE 130 TURBO DP WELDER

Is this suitable?

The reason i am keen to get advise on this particular model is because this is the only model that i have found that i can use finance to buy. I know i am realy skint at the mo.

If it`s available to you at your price then yes. Despite the flak that this welder gets you can weld with it. I did a massive amount of stuff with one.

Its cheaper to buy expensive tools!

Well as i said the only reason i am looking at this model is due to the fact i can pay over 3 years for it.

Silly question but i am a novice - is this gas or gasless?

No sales patter there, just honest advice based on my own experiences.

The SIP is not the best welder out there, but it's alright. I've got a Cosmo 130DP (the same, but in yellow) and I've had no problems so far. I know people say 'buy quality', but a more pragmatic approach would be to buy the best you can afford. If the SIP's all you can afford, then go for it.

Don't forget the other stuff you'll need. Consumables, tools, decent helmet etc.

EDIT: I've just read your other post. If you're going to use the welder commercially, then maybe the SIP isn't the best choice. It's really a low-end hobby welder. You really would be better with something else.

I don't believe you can't get other machines on tick. The society we live in caters for it.
