How many vices does any man need? We usually get a mug in pics for scale, looks like you've got Aladdin's lamp.........

MattF, Manganesite came in small tins and was a very thick black hard putty sort of consistency. I think the proportions were around 2 parts Manganesite to1 part flake graphite by weight, then mixed with the triple boiled linseed oil to give a thick but brush-able compound.

This Rocol Foliac jointing compound will be very similar.

Using a laptop/desktop or mobile phone? I can post the text from that file if preferred? I just linked to the text file incase I made any slight changes to it over time. As daleyd mentions, it should prompt to view or download the file when you follow that link.
