Having you watch through the window sounds too voyeauristic and might have your neighbours talking

If your shed is that cramped are you sure you want to be welding in there ? hope you have extinguishers to hand

Watch the fumes unless the shed has good ventilation. There's no point being silly about it, but you don't want to breath in any more than you have to.

If you do a search on the forum, using things like "first arc welds" and "Aldi arc welder", you'll find a lot of interesting posts.
