We know someone on this forum that makes/ modifies the ecu's for those pas racks don't we...Nothing like having the right tool for the job.
Steering wheel puller out again. I’ve used this sealey kit so many times over the years now it’s paid for itself. So much better than yanking. And hammering at the wheel in the vain hope it will come off!
Anyway, this allowed me to crack on with sorting the EPAS column. Completly butchered a corsa D setup. Cheap as chips atmo and fairly compact.
Managed to get it cut down and modified a Frankensteins esque colum of pure Opel and GM. Had to use some old manta column bits too achieve this. Lots of measuring and trimming, welding, lathe work even the mill too.
The brake pedal box still fits. Just need to sort a hydraulic clutch system out now. It had one cobbled together that nerve quite fitted tight and fouled the dash and had a hardline passing through the trans tunnel.
Proper bodge!
Crappy pics sorry and not much to explain what I did but was too engrossed in having 6 hours flat out on it.

Arms for these things are £200+ shipping taxes etc. so this seems the best thing to do given I’ve got to bastardize them anywayProgress is progress no matter how slow, mines stopped while we do outsidey stuff
Going back to the ball joints a lot of the RWD Opel designed stuff of this period could only have one ball joint change and then you were meant to replace the arm!
the replacement ball joint had a notch in the base so you could tell if it was on its second
