I have done that intentionally when cutting perspex with a jig saw, before I had variable speed one, actually I dont even think V/S where made then !, on 240 it would melt onto the blade but on 110 it would cut all day. nice and steady.Could have been worse. Thinking it was 110v when infact it was 240v and scratching your head wondering why it wouldn't look at butter hot. Happened to me with an angle grinder, soft start my a**e.
