I finished off welding up the bird table I decided to make up a couple of wall brackets rather than fix it to the post as it is now,

then I welded a couple of hinges on the ends of the brackets to the base, that way we can clean it now and then, I gave it a quick blast so the paint keyed better, its had one coat of Granville black primer-less paint ive never used it before, I don't even know why we have some about, will hopefully give it a bit of protection.

Then if was off to tinker with the digger, oops nearly forgot as I was passing the shed, here is a better picture of Anne for the dolly fans she is in the shed for the winter, plus the chickens are totally caged at the moment because of the blasted bird flu business,

here are my cats, I only normally see them at feed time but they came in a couple of weeks ago because of the cold and right stayed.

Back to the digger I cut a piece of rubber sheeting to make up a roof till I get time to make a proper one, at least it will keep some of the wet out.

The cab floor although dirty with mud and crap is not rotted like some I have seen. The dash wiring look like its going to need a bit of sorting and I will need to get a stop cable as this one is broken, at the moment you have to turn the engine off on the fuel pump. The dash and cab area is complete and all everything is there, even got some spare pins in the tool box. I spent a bit of time then just collecting filter numbers, ram sizes and pin sizes. I can now do research and order some maintenance parts while the weather isn't so good. First job I intend to do is engine oil change and filter, gearbox oil change, its not had a roof on you can bet the water is in the gearbox, a new diesel filter, then depending on the condition of hydraulic oil I may change it. I am hoping as the ram seals have been leaking, the oil will be good as its hopefully been topped up regular. While I was going round taking pics of the lights as in need of a couple of lenses,

I think I have struck lucky I am not positive yet, but fingers crossed I found the tractor serial number, its not in the usual place by the dash, ( if you look slightly to the right of the steering wheel you will see 2 pins or rivets that's where the plate should be)

hopefully its now mounted on top of the Rotary activator or (slew post)

its anyone guess as to why, I suppose the serial plate next to the dash could have got knock off by drivers. Its a real bonus if it is the serial plate as, I got quite bit off the price as the tractor came with no V5 and the serial plate was not in there in the normal place. I have done the dvla check and the reg number PEG399M

is still valid and on sorn, fingers crossed as it a pretty number it may even have value.
Will keep you posted

The seat is shot so will be on the lookout for a replacment
Yes me for my sins!Nice to have the dash dials all back together, the oil pressure pipe I made sorted out the gage, I still cant believe someone would fit an oil pipe that was to short.

Has anyone on the forum had any experience with the Perkins A4.202 engine as I just wondered if the oil pressure was ok, the engine is on tick over.

Weather permitting I want to give the inside a pressure wash before I put the rubber mat back in.
Almost forgot do we have someone on the forum that does pallet collecrtion or deliveries Im shure ive read someware but cant figure where it was. I have bought a couple of buckets Nottingham area and need them bringing home to Dorset on a pallet.

Will bug me too I will sort it asap, Siroil pressure looks fine, now all though mines a heap, can I point out your amp gauge isnt straight, sorry but that would bug me as everything else is correct.
Hi Tinbasher no from startup cold about 6-800 rpm I may look into getting a new gage as this one is looking a bit cloudy.Oil pressure looks fine, is that hot? As it’s an old machine it might be worth putting a new gauge on to get a decent psi reading just to be sure
It’s only cosmetic that oil pressure’s is great for a cold engine on tickoverHi Tinbasher no from startup cold about 6-800 rpm I may look into getting a new gage as this one is looking a bit cloudy.
Looks fine then mateHi Tinbasher no from startup cold about 6-800 rpm I may look into getting a new gage as this one is looking a bit cloudy.

This morning I had a little disapointment and bit of luck I popped over to a friends yard as he thought he had some massey buckets tuns out they wont fit without a lot of adjustment, which isn't a killer just a lot more time spent on them which at the moment I would rather not that was the disapointment.
The luck was, while I was there I pickup a second hand seat for a tenner, it has small tear on one side but after a bit of a clean its a lot better than the one I had.

With a bit of redrilling of the bolt holes to mate the seat to the sprung base, it was ready to fit into the digger

It was a monumental effort getting it through the digger doorway I had it in the cab. Them seats are so heavy and awkward when your on your own.
