Is it possible to run this single phase motor through a Dewhurst F/R switch, doubtful but hopeful.

Probably yes as there are two pairs of wires to the connection posts.
One pair will be the start windings and the other the run windings. To reverse direction they need to swap polarity in relation to each other.
Looks like it is a typical old (but good) Brook Crompton motor.

Yes, but I don't just want to permanently reverse the motor but wire it to a Dewhurst controller.

Not familiar with the wiring but what are the instructions to reverse the direction

Have you a picture of the switch you want to use? The motor should reverse by swapping one pair of wires - as long as the switch you want to use is capable of doing this then I can’t see why not.

As @Fazerruss says the wires will need separating out (wago connectors or choc block would do, but obviously make sure it’s safely insulated)

Thanks for that, I would need a diagram, the book on the Dewhurst shows 4 separate motor terminals?.

Certainly looks reversible. What's on the inside of the little cover you removed to see the wires?
