I am looking for a switch that is similar to the outdoor lights that come on when it senses movement. But I would like to have just the wall switch that I can overide when I leave the room. Plus have it set up fir a predetermined time.

It will just activate the normal kitchen lights...

just fit a pir the normal switch will over ride it if you want it to stay on

as above, things turn on when they get power, the pir will allow power to the light when it senses movement, if you want to override it then the switch will give it power while its on and the pir will (for the purposes of this) do nothing while the switch is on...you can incorporate timers if you want too as well and if you want to be able to override the PIR so it doesnt come on at certain times just use the switch to control the PIR and not the light

i misread it, i thought you wanted to wire a switch to a pir, if you want a unit that already does all this then the link in BS's post is what you want

It's actually to assist my wife with one arm and the other using a stick. I have recently built a computer room between the kitchen and the conservatory which means it's dark and a danger when she goes in.

I hope to replace the switch in the kitchen so it comes on with her movement and goes off later. But I was hoping for a switched version so I could switch it off myself when I left room. I don't really want to mess with wiring as I have recently decorated.

if u have- a permanent feed to the light as well as switched 3 plate loop in loop out system a ceiling mounted one would be the best near the light . anyone entering the room it would come on timed and --go off if no movement detected . then u could just use your switch as normal yourself to keep -it on -if u turn the swich off and leave the room it will go off automaticaly after the set time period

Its a two way switch in the kitchen. one at each door but one door is now blocked up and the other switch is behind fridge lol. with 2 banks of 4 GU10 lamps.

My wife cant switch lights on or off but I dont want to waste energy. I was hoping for a direct replace,ment like what was losted earlier wall mounted PIR but with a switch connected so I could switch it off when I went out of the room.

My brain cant quite get round if its possible. I will settle for PIR on and time off to be fair.

it wont make any difference 2 way or 1 way if u have the pir on ceiling. u have a permanent supply to the pir and a switched output to the light as well as-switched from wall switch

Problem is...it needs a neutral...which may or may not be an issue depending on how your lights are wired up....

It will be a switched live but will also need neutral to power the pir curcuit

the danlers pir wall switch only needs a live and switchwire 2 wire. it has a battery inside and charges up when-the light is off as it gets its neutral supply -backfeeding through the bulb -down the switchwire -

there takin the p- them prices timguard do them for 30 plus vat. realy your best with one on the ceiling near the light if theres a permanent feed there
