Recently got an email from my cousin in NZ about his bikes, he's a big BMW fan and has recently bought barn finds 1958 R50 and 1965 R60, the R60 is now on the road while the R50 is still on the bench, he tells me spares are still available from BMW at a price, one conrod is £750!.

An interesting project is a 1977 R100 he has grafted on the fuel injection system from an R1150 and the turbo off a Subaru!, currently struggling at 5000 rpm, he's hoping for 8500 rpm then he can take it to a local drag strip, I will have to ask for pics of that one.

Very nice bikes, parts availability is good on them, I used to buy parts for mine from Germany pre not being in the EU. The R100 is a nippy enough bike, I had ported big valve heads on mine and twin spark plugs. Would cruise at 100 mph, I got a ticket in the 80's for averaging 99mph over 8 miles on B roads....the mirrors used to vibrate and cleared at 120 mph.

one or 2 very early Beemers here.....
quite a few sidecar units too but only one with the sidecar driven wheel....ex army...?
even wrecks are mad expensive and dont ask about runners n their prices.....
and I thought Indians were expensive.....hahaha......
