Hi, having never welded anything before I went on this one-day course:
Welding. One day course
I would recommend it if you are a complete and utter beginner as it gave me the confidence to buy a mig welder and start practicing at home.
Although it covers Mig, Arc and gas you can concentrate on just one if thats more apprpropriate for you.
You wont become an expert of course but it will get you started especially if you have never welded anything.
I also did the blacksmithing day which was great fun!
