friend of mine went to Thailand and bought back some Rolex submariners, they looked pretty impresive to the untrained eye, cost him £1 each

Apparently its difficult to copy an omega speedmaster due to the layout of the dials.
If your after a cheaper version of a seiko then look into orient watches, they're part of seiko epson.They are japanese made, one of the few companies that make their own movement.I paid about £150 for mine.

I have an Omega Seamaster, worn only for 'special' occasions. When we got engaged in 2001 she wanted to buy me something in return and at the time it was something I'd always yearned for. It's a reassuring weight and you know when you're wearing it and has sometimes been an icebreaker / talking point with folk but not something I'd want to wear every day!
