Need to fix my elderly mums toilet cistern this weekend. It's been acting up for some time, struggles to flush I know it's knackered and would be best totally replacing but time is an issue. So what are the chances of one of the usual (screwfix/toolstation) replacements fitting? I did take pics of cistern in the past but can't find them. It's an old basic type much like found in public loos (guess my late dad picked it up at work to replace the original council cast iron one!)
It looks a lot like the pic below BUT I am sure that is not the make but it does have the step in the bottom which is why I am wondering if a "normal" flush mechanism would fit due to step ?
I have a B&Q + Screwfix + Toolstation within a stones throw of home (they have asked me to stop throwing stones )
I will if needed replace whole cistern inc flush mech but would like not to....
