I recently lost my best pair of molegrips, annoyingly I didn't ever bother to study them much (classic not appreciating things until they've gone) so I'm left not knowing exactly what make/model they were. I suspect they were Irwin vice grips, owing to the action of the release lever and a vaugley remembered logo.
Bought 2 new pairs of Irwin vice grips today, a 7" straight jaw and a 10" curved jaw, but neither are as good as the ones I've lost - in terms of jaw shape mainly, the old pair were a curved jaw set but not to the extent these new ones are curved, they're ridiculous. Also they old set had excellent grip right at the front end of the jaws due to a series of teeth as the pattern, where as these newuns are a sort of cross hatching at the end, not deep enough and too small of an area to be much use.
Has anyone got suggestions where I can get an old school set. Without wasting hours scouring ebay for second hand ones?
Must be good quality, and approx 10", for what its worth the ones I lost could have been 10 years old at least.
Thanks
