Well done! I see you put some generic film capacitors in there. These are sold as motor capacitors, so make sure you get ones for 'motor run' rather than 'motor start' as the latter are not designed for continuous loads, since they get disconnected once the motor is up to speed. It may be that the rusty case you showed a few posts ago has the capacitor inside it, with the studs taken out to the contacts visible on the outside. Does the lid come off? I can't think that the value would be crucial, but it would be interesting to know if there is a label somewhere.
Try cleaning the ratings plate with some soapy water and a toothbrush. It looks to be etched so ought to be legible once the grime is off. Those plugs ought to have a screw and copper ferrule in them to clamp the cable in the plug, so changing the cable for a less manky one ought to be straightforward.
