Old Manchester saw

Hi all,

I have been offered an old three phase powered Manchester saw. It's a heavy bit if kit and looks like it has been looked after due to the amount of grease oozing out of every where possible. Albeit there are few issues, nothing major but what can be expected of something this age. What I don't know is how much it's worth? The guy offering it is retiring and is insisting I make him an offer as he has no clue what to ask for it either!!!

Does anyone have any knowledge of these saws and maybe point me in the right direction of a price as I don't want to do myself out or insult him as he's a bit of a grumpy ******!!

They usually fetch about £100 to £150 on ebay.

I think I had that exact saw, bought on eBay for 40 quid. Don't pay too much for it, they're not that mind blowing compared to alternatives.

Offer him scrap money plus a tenner

offer him 50 quid and go to 70 if u have 2 .point out to him its 3 phase and the motor will cost 60 quid to replace .so by the time u have spent on it thats all it would be worth

I ended up giving him £100 because he threw in a load of rotar broaches for a mag drill I bought off him the other week. Those alone have saved me a fair couple of quid! I have taken pics of some if the stuff he has so will upload them in the for sale section for him in due course. He has a thermal arc fabricator 330, a Clarke 3ph compressor, a cold saw, mosa genny/welder and a makita mag drill
