Seeing as my "modern" luxury is a 2007 Alfa 159 3.2 Q4 (for sale if anyone fancies one ) compared my 91 Lancia Delta integrale, I'm not sure I can comment.
No touch screen in either, the Alfa does have three settings of auto-wiper daftness rather then 3 settings of intermittent, but in ten years it's not been too much of a issue. In fact, a recent adjustment of the wipers so they properly wiped may have made it work much better.
Stepped out of the Lancia when I got home yesterday with a silly grin - a pretty quiet back road route home allowed me to use much more boost than usual - it's simply a fantastic car to chuck along a winding, undulating back road with good visibility.
Actually the big thing I noticed stepping between it and modern stuff - while it would crumple like the 1970s designed hatchback shell it uses, I reckon it's safer simply due to being able to see out of it so much better - slim pillars mean much less of the view out is obscured.
Want to change temp, where it blows air, or how hard - reach down, twiddle one of three knobs that are always there, always in the same place, always do the same thing, and you can feel the doing it as you twiddle.
Think the only automatic feature is the cabin light when you open a door - front light for the front doors. Rear lamps for the rear doors.
I'm off out just to look at it
