Old Hotmail email account full, can't empty it.

What's the limit? I've got at least 20,000 emails in my .live inbox (Same as Hotmail I think?) and it hasn't told me off yet.

Ditto. I mean it's obvious that there would be a limit but I'd never considered that there is. Can't think I've ever deleted an email.

i know what you mean but even but i prefer the old accounts compared to the new forced area accounts that you get when you try to make an account

theres a box on the webpage that says tick all boxes i just ticked that and sent the lot into bin
only keeping what i wanted to keep

yes its boring but your account needs a good cleaning and only keep whats needed but thats up to you

i stopped downloading to my machines years ago and never looked back

I blitz mine occasionally, my routine :

Decide which ones are most common that you can do without, filter to see only those (I can often filter by a particular sender), use the tickbox to select ALL, page up and down - untick any ones you want to keep, click the checkbox at the top of the screen that says "Delete all checked",
Repeat for different senders until you get bored.
On mine I have an option to View all unread - if you've not read them, is there any reason to keep them?
Look at your spam folder - I can often delete everything in there.
When you're done, go into your deleted folder and delete all messages there.

Do it on a daily basis + auto deleat junk, if I shut prog down.
Occasionally I go to servers and clean them, have email files (family, awaiting delivery, invoices, etc) I save anything I want to keep long term, so 30/40 in day to day incoming is about it, 95% junk. Beloved had thousands 90% junk she now uses files as well.
Takes 5 min or less to clean everything on a daily basis

Recently had no end of grief with our hotmail acc, long story short an Indian gentlemen had hacked the settings so he could intercept all of our invoicing and reissue to our clients with his own banking details. We could only find stuff that should of gone into our inbox in archives. Took a month to sort that one out, he had meddled with the rules settings. Made worse because resetting the password didn’t change the rules of sending him emails.

Sorted, eventually figured out how to empty the trash folder, completely empty now, but still says I'm low on storage ?

Did mine today... was also reporting low storage... try again shortly, mine didnt clear the banner for a while.

Try creating a new email, and having emails to the old one forwarded on (somewhere in settings?) - might save a lot of grief

Also, try setting up the account in MS Outlook
