Hello
Not sure if this is the type of question to ask here but as it will be painting related - hope its ok.
I am restoring a 1976 triumph spitfire 1500 and have been completeing some metalwork on the bonnet arches. I noticed a large crack in the paintwork which turned out to be the filler underneath around the wing clamps. My question is:
Is it possible to simply add filler to the area that is now missing and sand to match level or will new filler not adhese to old filler and same thing happen again in future?
I would prefere to lead load but not sure how much lead would be needed.
See photos below for a better idea of my problem and the thickness of old filler (4 or 5mm).
Thanks for any advice you gan give
Cheers
