Old Colchester Bantam lathe

Afternoon all,
I'm currently rehabilitating an old Bantam lathe, not wanting to make a bigger mess of a rather neglected lathe, I've decided to give it a good clean/refurb.
I'm trying to remove the spindle and have unscrewed the (mangled) nuts with c spanners, I'm at a loss as to the next move, not wanting to apply any undue force to it.
I've attached a picture of the grease encrusted headstock for reference. Any help kindly received. Adam.

The little gear on the tail end with the busted teeth will be on a keyway should slide off the back. The cone pulleys will also be on a key with a grub screw retaining it which you can loosen through that hole in the flat pulley. Watch out that they haven't used two grub screws one on top of the other. The big gear on the front will be spinning loose on a plain bush or maybe a needle roller bearing. The bronze thread at the front which had a castle nut on it is a cone shaped bush for adjusting radial backlash in the spindle.

Many thanks for the quick reply, the grub screw holding the cone pulley is long gone, I can move the spindle about half an inch before the nut in front of the big gear stops any further movement. Is there a something hidden that I've missed, which stops the spindle sliding out from the gears and pulleys? The bronze bushings move freely. The manual that I found is for the later Bantam, I think this one is pre 1920's. Reading your refurbs in this forum has given me the impetus to get stuck in and do this, in the wings is an old Marlow mill awaiting attention!
