Ronan, I read an article in classic bike mag about someone brutalising a trident engine to fit frame, probably the same guy, having owned a 72 BSA rocket 3 (its still on the road according to DVLC) I thought it was an act of shear vandalism to a classic engine. That emc frame looks far too spindly and weak to take anything with much power. I have heard of people chopping gearboxes off unit engines before to get them into a frame. Triumph tridents (the meriden ones) for instance.

The Vincent v-twin engines were also chopped to fit in frames, usually the Norton featherbed.
It was in the 70s I had a car the bike a mortgage I was out of work at the time + junior decided to enter this wonderful world, something had to give. I think I took 700£ for it, 15.000 mile on it (I know hindsight is wonderful) I've got Bonneville America now.Egli Vincent, buggerall money in the early to mid 70's by today's standards. How about a pair of Jawa's through an RRT2 box?![]()
