Oil mixing?

Mobil always been high quality oil, without the stinging price tag of Castrol

I not a fan of Castrol oil for the price.

I run VW's Skoda's cars - I always use Quantum stuff in my own cars.

I wouldnt think twice about mixing the C3 oils, its only the additive that are different a bit like petrol.

If its a high performance engne then I stick to Mobil one.

Be careful mixing different types of engine oil, some will not mix and turns to something almost like grease in about 20 minutes. It got a little boring stripping and cleaning out engines because some dim wit put the wrong oil in it.

I will get 5L more of one of them to match and use that, so dont worry, I wont be mixing.

Part of my reason for wanting to do this is that it dropped all its coolant a while back and SWMBO never opens the bonnet to check these things (its my job). I have changed the leaking water pump now but since it got used for towing a horsebox while low on coolant I am worried the HG has gone. With the oil, i had to take all the filters off to get access to the water pump so didnt want to put new filters on with old oil and just figured I might be able to get rid of these dregs while i test it by using it around the fields for a bit!

It's a Td5 not a fancy modern lump, granted it's not a Tdi but I'm sure it'd be fine with anything.

@reb78 with the agricultural equipment you've got around it could be used up in those fairly easily I'd have thought.
