Aluminium. I had to remove both pipes as I couldn't separate them on the car, join circled below. Was easy enough once in a vice.
Air cooled Porsche’s have similar oil lines going the length of the car at eye watering prices, I know some folks have had hydraulic companies such as Pirtek renew the hoses onto the original fittings.
That Mitsubishi I done the work on, you could rotate the rubber hose on the metal pipe by hand so it was obvious it was leaking there, these were steel pipes so less risk with crimping themNo need, it's a known issue, virtually all of them fail within 20 years, mine is an outlier that's got to 22 years. It was also leaking at both ends of the hose.
Jag issued a "technical service bulletin" about it back in ~2006.
