Yep, another aussie... this one from Perth.

Also another welding noob - not going to be contributing much here for my first few posts no doubt, (unless of course my failures provide some amusement for everyone).

At least until I get my mig going again, or until the 'boss' gives her approval for a tig which I've been wanting for a few years now.
Thanks in advance for any and all help you all give :drunk:

    G'Day mate!
Are you a real Aussie or another Brit
A good friend emigrated to Perth a few years ago. He loves it there. Would be too hot for me. He works in a real hellhole - good money though - Argyle diamond mine. A very long commute!

    Born n bred in Perth!

I've worked enough sites up north to know Argyle would be a hellhole, but never had the pleasure of going there specifically. Done plenty of 2hr fifo flights from Perth. If only they were worth some frequent flyer points like they used to be!

If you know anything about Perth, you'll know why I put the welder away for summer and break it out in the winter!

It almost kills me when the temp goes over 25C! We had 30C here the other day - it was horrible - mind you the humidity was at 97%.
As a kid we lived all over the Middle East and the heat never bothered me.

Oh yes, can appreciate that! We'd have been there a few months ago were it not for a wee bug doing the rounds... have family there, Mount Lawley.

I don't think I could face your summer... your winter is fine for us!

    Oh - and welcome!

Perth? Was there last year visiting my brother. He’s just moved down to Margaret River, another nice place. Spent some time on a farm out at Pingrup - big machinery and very big fields!

Welcome aboard and what an introduction

If you like a beer you should pop into the The Welders Arms, much beer is drunk in there, much frivolity happens, cant say I've ever heard any welding being discussed there, lol

welcome to the forum, that's from the east. Been a while since I had been there, but mainly at 'Fremantle' . Worked on a boat to get it finished and was the engineer and navigator to bring it back to Sydney. We went from Albany to Portland in one hit. Afterwoods I found that, that is further than going from Sydney to New Zealand:doh:
