Oh how I need a mill!

Just had to beg the use of my neighbours little chester combined mill/lathe. Not the best machine but it did what I needed it to, however I have now spoilt myself in as much as I know what im missing :/

I've got one of those!^^^^
I've been machining a rear wheel spacer today.
As you say probably not as good as a seperate pair of machines but I don't have the space or money for that.
It took a bit of fettling the get right after the last owners bodges but it's pretty good now as long as I keep the tools sharp.

If I can find, and when I can afford one, I'm going to get the vertical slide attachment for the myford , at least I can do basic milling

Seems a decent price if they did pay4later interest free credit like R-tech do and if it was bigger than expected that can only be good and yet it seems the product is not carefully shipped etc. mixed feelings...

Maybe not, but to be fair the minute it has the word Myford (or Boxford or Colchester, for that matter) on it, regardless of how trivial an item it is, the price goes through the roof. As others have said, you could make or adapt something to work with your lathe.

400Kgs? The vertical head for my Bridgeport weighs about that much - well, it seems like it when I pick it up
