That smartwater is like a lot of supposed security measures though. Get the right solvent on it and it just comes straight off. Just bog standard foam cleanser lifts most stuff. Get something like IPA or more aggressive on it and it's gone straight away. Sticks out like a sore thumb as to where it has been applied too. I seem to recall that Smartwater looking akin to something like a snot patch from a sneeze, whenever I came across the stuff on owt.

I'm a bit confused by the IPA comment, will any beer shift it or does it have to be India Pale Ale?

Walls have ears Norm..be careful. I did think at the time though ,its not the sort of think you find in a random break in, 35k worth of tools plus the means and time to shift them etc.

Exactly my thoughts, thats why MY investigation is ongoing, and progressing.
I have a lot of good acquaintances, that I have treated right, if you are decent, swings and roundabouts are good to play on, but can be worse to fall off.

Haha. He means Isopropyl Alcohol, it's a strong solvent, similar to Acetone.

When I worked in Dumfriesshire we had a lot of gear nicked one night, nothing near the value you've had nicked Norm. A real pain, police did very little. Patience is a virtue, it took a few months but we eventually found out who did it. Somebody very close that knew our work routine. He may still be wishing he hadn't nicked it!
