Oh dear odometer

The odometer on my Mazda B2500 has stopped working; the speedo works, the trip meter works. But the odometer is caput ...I did a bit of research and it seems the little worm gear that drives it is lubricated with a mineral grease that erodes it over time ...so some brite spark has made a self lubing one ....I can get one from Ebay , from Germany for 20 quid including postage ...has any one done this ?did it work? ....

not tried it, but at 20 quid got to be worth a go, don't know what Greece is like for scrappies, but you could easily spend 20 quid trying to find one. I'd give her a go.. worst comes to worst, the dash will have to come out anyway, so might as well risk it.

Yeah I think you're dead right , we do have scrappies but they are few and far between and they don't really like folk mooching about ...and if it's in a scrap yard it means anything worth having has been robbed off it all ready ...and trying to buy a spare parts is fraught with problems ...if you are not Yanni's cousin ....

the repair part says it's for the rev counter not speedo is this correct?
seems to list products 1 to 7 are they all the same

I like the counseling available during installation..... might be trying to tell you something there...

I think its poorly worded, but it's the odometer part they're talking about. just typed in mazda B seried speedo drive, and this came up so it might be a common problem..

Not massively , but it's handy to have a idea of the kilometres between services , oil changes , belt replacements , brakes... etc
