What type of car would I need to be looking for, for parts to do suspension

For the buggy you posted, everything on there is custom fabricated, it doesn't use any parts from cars.

If you want to make something similar that's semi serious, the easiest way is to make a beefy VW sandrail like they used to make from old Beetles, and nick the uprights and suspension to bolt on or buy some offroad suspension from the states for it.

That's a good way to create a very badly handling buggy, or one that tries to roll over the first time it catches a rock with the outside wheel...

how much experience do you have designing suspension components? Suspension and brakes are probably the only 2 areas where i would want them off a car
