Off holidaying on Sunday

Hiow awful. Mrs C and I are taking the ferry to Santander on Sunday with our bike and have ten days exploring Asturias, the Picos de Europa, mountains, beaches, and Sidra.
cant wait, I have been getting a bit frazzled lately and need a break.
Our ancient Africa twin is ready for action.

I have been looking at what is available to do and have even found some Via Ferratta action to scare Mrs C.
I have always fancied a go at this stuff.

Looks like fun, and I love to hear people scream.
the Picos?probably the most varied landscape in Europe.
Fabulous and they make cider.
Hell I need a break.
Junior (17) is being left to host the facebook party from hell, my neighbours have offered to call the riot police and film it for me. Nice guys.

New tyres this week, old nail should last until the end of everything.
I have to admit to being excited.
we have not had a proper holiday for ages.
I cycled round these parts years back and loved it.
My cider making chum has given me some contacts with cider makers in Spain.
What can go wrong?
Distances? not much. It is a small area with loads of landscape types. My mate and I cycled most of it. on motorbike I reckon we will be looking at about 40 miles a day. A leisurely trip apart from the Via Ferratta day out. Snigger snigger.
I have looked at the dirt roads and think maybe next year on my own.
I have the bike.

A few years ago I hugged the coast from Oviedo all the way up to Roscof, great trip, esp. the Spanish bit.

It's a bit far from where you're going - more Malaga way - but check out the vids on YouTube for the Camino Del Rey - we were going to go and try it, but just the vids gave me vertigo!!

I never managed European trip on my little or big MZs, or the Guzzi, always something in the way, but I might be getting close with the VW LT28. I would prefer a bike, since it does not matter which side of the road you are on.

Half the fun is scaring the missus. Mine does not even like the military road up here, too many up/down bits.

Bike all loaded last night, wifey can just abut climb on board. off at about 10.30.

The old military road is great fun but you have to watch for coaches reversing up blind summits after they over shot car parks
